The Citadel was born from a brainstorming session involving three close friends with a common goal of making a difference in the education sector through grants and scholarships. Jonathan Wynne and Ralph Holley, founders of Educational Opportunities, initially focused on offering scholarship search strategies to high school students. Jocelyn Howard joined forces with Ralph and Jon to support talented high school graduates. Together, they shared a deep commitment to education and to the next generation. Over time, Jocelyn  was approached by the UAW to assist in training automotive workers and new hire recruits, by creating a secure space for learning and idea exchanges. Thus, the Citadel was founded. The Citadel by definition is a stronghold and a place of refuge. Nearly twenty years later, the Citadel has positively impacted countless students, partnered with Fortune 500 companies, trained adults, conducted a vast array of workshops, and remains a revered center for education, training, and personal growth.

To provide each student with a safe learning environment where student learning is connected with mirrored discipleship. We purport that learning in connected to dedicated leaders who will use proven methods to create our next generation of societal ambassadors. We will not merely teach leaders, we will grow leaders.
